Another 991 GT3 caught fire????
Discussion
Hi!
I made this photos on the 11th around Duisburg at 18.30. I could only shot it's right side as the track's driver didn't want to overtake me before our ways separated.
The other side of the car's cover was torn apart by the wind and I could clearly see the whole rear of GT3 burnt.
Was it one of the two infamous GT3s or another car that caught fire?
If it was one of the two, what would that car be doing around that area?

Sorry to spoil the speculation but doesn t look like a GT3.........sitting too high at the front (even with lift), no front splitter or black front arch edging, 2 horizontal slats to the rad cooler intake on the second picture (GT3 has mesh), and the wheels look wrong to me...more like 50th anniversary 5 spoke retros......

Agreed. You are correct. Well, the good news here is that it is not GT3. I didn't notice that at first!
The bad thing is that other 991s apparently catch fire but let's not speculate here as we don't know the reason.
However, I am afraid and almost sure that the cause of this fire was engine. And the engine as we know shares parts with GT3's engine (at least to some extent).

Whilst true,it seems 911s have a propensity to,when mine did I knew of at least 3 others who's 996 turbo did, although they were in the USA,and when the fire brigade came to rescue me ,the attending officer told me he had done 4-5 911s over the years. It didn't stop me buying more ,as I had that belief that any car could ,but for this to happen again and again is not right.

Almost sure.......or completely sure......or just unsure.....

'Lord' Aleems Lambo Aventador caught fire last week.......was that caused by the engine or just the firebombing.......
