There's a pun around here about the wrong squawk. I'm not going to flap about making it work though.

Amazing to think that the remains of that bird has a larger RCS than the massive aircraft they are now stuck too!! (although, in fairness, not with the gear down/doors open)

Did the Farnborough Airshow crowd see the B2 a couple of years/shows ago?

No. Of course they didn't. The bloody septics were busy flying their display along the 'crowd line' at Blackbushe, which is 5 miles North, and similarly orientated.

The 'display' was part of a long range training exercise with Farnborough's runway as the 'target', or at least a run-in to a target. Apparently they could only do it once. They got it wrong. We didn't get to see it. It was a B2 Spirit, non-stop out of Edwards, back in the days when it was not landing/stopping over outside of the USA. Fast forward a few years, and they were landing the thing at Fairford, with the Russians hanging around making the place look untidy.

(I also remember seeing the F117 at RIAT, surrounded by three fences, and a ring of UK police officers, outside of a ring of armed US personnel, along with signs warning that 'Lethal Force' would be used against intruders. The yanks were doing their super-hard/ultra-cool thing, at which I almost pissed myself laughing.)

yellowjack,

I beg to differ. It was a B52 in 2004, not a B2.
