Sony A58+ Polariser + car show
Discussion
We went to an outdoor car show couple of weekends ago and used my sons Sony A58 with a polariser filter to cut the reflections down on the cars.
It worked but also the photos came out a bit darker than normal. I realise this is maybe a stupid question but how do we use the polariser and get the photos to be a bit lighter?
Any alternative solutions to using a polarising filter ?
Thanks

TBH I find using that function very frustrating. But on the A77 there's a feature which allows you to see how the image will turn out (within reason) it's a little button on the front of the camera to the bottom right of the lense (as you're looking through the view finder) not sure if the A58 has that function but it should have

Might be simpler to get a DSLR, rather than having a TV which is automatically adjusted so that you have to adjust it to where it shoud be so you can adjust it back again. And the idea of trying to assess exposure accurately by looking at a monitor in daylight is just silly IMHO.
Quite the reverse is true actually. I have become a big convert to a good electronic viewfinder, to the extent that I would gladly ditch my 5D3 for an equivalent with an EVF.
Once you get used to it, having real time live view histograms present before you even shoot plus a clear and instant understanding of how the camera is seeing things is a revelation. I don't need to chimp and the keeper rate is higher because I get the exposure right first time, more often. WB assessment is easy too, live as it happens.
I never thought I'd say this - but I prefer the EVF of my Fuji XT1 over the viewfinder of my 5D3.
I can see myself abandoning Canon for Fuji or Sony pretty soon.
I have the Sony A77 and I love it, still getting used to the fact it shows you how the picture will look so keep on forgetting to check, but getting there. Using the evf 100% of the time can be frustrating, particularly when using an external flash or shooting long exposures as the camera can't tell you how those pictures are going to turn out.
