TVR 3000M, good buy ?

A friend of my uncles has a TVR 3000M, he bought it new, ran it for 6000 miles and a couple of years, took it off the road for some modifications and there it has sat ever since.
It is pretty mint really, but need recommissioning, he took the dash out for some reason so that needs putting back, the engine runs very nicely but the fuel tank will need cleaning out, he left the engine on 100 percent anti freeze before it was laid up and left it in a dry, heated garage that is part of his house so it hasnt gone to wrack and ruin like a lot of old cars do when left.
Not sure how much to offer, I heard 6 grand mentioned but not sure how much it will cost to get it back on the road and how much it would be worth when it is.
Are they any good ? certainly looks the part and is prety unique, cant imagine there is a lower mileage one anywhere in more original condition.

Regretfully J4CKO this car isn't really worth the effort, it will drain you of all of your cash, be a constant drain on your time (spending night after night polishing and fettling it in the garage) and then comes the driving bit..... all those people clustering around it when you're trying to park, people hassling you to sprint it at Curborough - I'm sure you're getting the drift.
Now - don't worry 'cos help is at hand!
Fortunately I have a few schekles tucked away and for this fantastic opportunity (sorry! re-write!!!) this poor old car- I can offer you a few quid to take it off your hands - Now isn't that kind of me?

M's and Taimars are great cars...few in the TVRCC NE. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the TVR Dean price as he tends to take the piss. Depending on many factors £3k to £5k is probably fair? As stated chassis is key - friend has just had a complete new chassis built for about £2k I think but obviously everything would then need swapping over so you are effectively into full rebuild territory?

Yep, on reflection your probably right if the condition is as good as described...and if it is a turbo or a limited edition maybe more?Mostly ford running gear easily available.

I'm just used to seeing and hearing stories of over priced barn finds!
I really fancied one of those back in the day, I had 3 x 3 litre Capris on the trot which were a great car, the TVR just seemed the natural progression.
Would love one now, last time I looked they seemed expensive ....

My comments regarding price were not to dissagree with you as you are better informed than I, but when you see the prices classics in general are commanding let alone low mile one owners its crazy.
