Best using short manifolds made from thick wall gaspipe... like the stuff below.
The further the turbo is from the exhaust port, the more of the energy from the combustion event is lost.
Short, thick tube helps keep the heat energy in, and also provides good support for the weight of the turbos.

That depends crafty! Log manifolds aren't always the best flowing and that can hinder performance. A nice equal length header will always produce more power than a log type header. It obviously come down to packaging constraints more than anything. The further the turbo is from the exhaust port, the more of the energy from the combustion event is lost.

The reason OEMs use very short headers on turbo cars is for emissions reasons more than fast spooling of the turbo(s). They need to retain the heat to get the cats lit off as soon as possible.
