At the risk of getting flamed (searched forum but can't find) any pointers for bespoke (or otherwise) stainless / inconel headers for a SBC type arrangement, especially Turbo oriented?
Cheers

Take a look at these guys appear to do good work at a reasonable price (not sure about the turbo figment though): http://www.stainless-exhaust.com

I don't recall having heard of a turbo arrangement on a SBC. There is J. Schwartz' twin turbo GTR in the US.

This is for a replacement set of twin turbo manifolds for a Canam in the UK, old ones are shot!

Where abouts in the engine bay are the turbos mounted? Could you get away with some n/a style headers and connecting pipes?

Best using short manifolds made from thick wall gaspipe... like the stuff below.
The further the turbo is from the exhaust port, the more of the energy from the combustion event is lost.
Short, thick tube helps keep the heat energy in, and also provides good support for the weight of the turbos.

That depends crafty! Log manifolds aren't always the best flowing and that can hinder performance. A nice equal length header will always produce more power than a log type header. It obviously come down to packaging constraints more than anything.

The reason OEMs use very short headers on turbo cars is for emissions reasons more than fast spooling of the turbo(s). They need to retain the heat to get the cats lit off as soon as possible.

I found two sets of Inconel headers on EBay at $450 each. Now I'm modifying them for my engine. Not difficult. May be a good alternative.
