First of all, apologies

Just bought a new am and want to get rid of the number plate plinth. Have read all the previous posts so know about the size it needs to be. However I want the really small front plate, ordered what I thought was the one but sadly not

Can anyone tell me where I can buy please ?

www.fancyplates.com and go for the 3/4 front plate and specify the width you want smile

Full size on the V12 for comparison.

Mine (the V12VR and I love the picture) came from the Plates for Cars Site who were extremely efficient.

Or get a small one and stay legal as well (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190900272289)

Does need to be only a 5 character plate tho

Renmure - that is the size of mine and, as you say, road legal.

Mines a 3/4 size bought from one of the makers in Ireland - comes with the BS number and maker details etc which are also a legal requirement although the size is technically too small. I also bought a full size one just in case and use industrial Velcro to attach

I've had no issues and can swap the plate to the full size one in about 10s.

Ive had 3/4 plates for over 15 years on my sports cars and only got bothered once. The font kind of looks legal and the plate looks a lot better on the front of smaller cars.

Last time I got waved in at a Police spot check, in the Vantage about 4 years ago. I was pulled over by the newly qualified lady copper and then the senior guy running the check point had a chat about the car, explained the rules on plates to me and let me go on my way...he knew I could just go home and put a full size plate on but didnt want to hassle me...they were after "real" criminals .....its nice to experience some common sense Policing wink

with a 5 character plate you could go smaller than 3/4 size...depends on how much you want to risk the attention from the law
