People are happy enough to pay £20k for a decent Stag or TR6, why not a good Wedge? And why this obsession with some TVR owners to talk down the marque? I don't get it...But I think Elvis is right - if someone's

Yup-agreed!The right cars are worth the right money, end of. I went to historics auction at brooklands last week and everything that sold went for either full estimate or over. The lambo countach they had was estimate £110k and it sold for £330k because it was a immaculate low mileage low owner.
Look at other tvrs-griffs are in the classifieds for 10k and there are dealers selling some for 30k. You don't see the owners in that forum saying 'anyone who buys that must be stupid' because thats just nonsense.
Rant over
Hello? It already found it's level at auction - £13k less than a month ago. This is just a dealer who can afford to put a fat round figure on and wait whilst the rest of his stock turns over. £20k is a totally "out there take the the piss and see what happens"/off the edge of the price bell curve for a bog standard 400SE. Wedges a quarter of that price are struggling to sell - perhaps they should just ask more to increase their chances of selling!
And it's nothing to do with talking the marque down it's about being a realist and there is a quantum leap between the capabilities and fit/finish of a wedge and TVR's later output.
Personally I'd put my £20k elsewhere in the Marque. {edit} a quick scour of the classifieds reveals a geuine 6000 mile mint Tuscan with Red Rose engine @ £19k....

Let's not forget that the classic car market is similar to the share market. Prices can go up as well as down. At the moment the classic car market is flourishing but that could change in an instant. Yes, we'd all like our cars to be worth more, though in the case of this low mileage, low owner wedge, the seller is rather optimistic. However, like I say, if he can get it, then good luck to him.
