Finally......my very own SL55 AMG.
Discussion
Wanted one of these for a long time since first hearing one overtake me at full warp speed when I was driving along with my window down!
Picked it up yesterday, and have done about £80 of fuel already, but who cares your only here once.
I will have it all checked over soon, but the engine sounds as good as new to me. I just intend to keep it standard and in the best condition possible, it will be nice and cosy in my garage most of the time with a weekend blast with the roof of when possible, no more than 3,000 miles a year.

Lovely car OP. The V8 supercharged engine is a peach and they make a great news!
Not a great fan of the wheels but thats just my taste. Think id be looking for some AmG wheels if i were you. Maybe keep the Carlsons for the winter?
Has the ABC suspension been sorted? Same as my CL- fortunately someone else had had the large bills already when i got mine
Enjoy it!

Thanks for the comments, people seem to either love or hate the wheels it would seem.
The manufacturer of them is a well know German tuning house, see quote from Wiki.
"Carlsson is a German car tuning manufacturer specialising in Mercedes-Benz cars. The Carlsson tuning house was founded by brothers Rolf and Andreas Hartge in 1989. Carlsson's products are available for the entire current range of Mercedes-Benz models including the R-Class [1], SL-Class [2], C-Class [3] and the GL-Class [4] along with many others. The company is most popular for its range of alloy wheels."
As I said, I will try to find some AMG's I think and will possibly sell the Carlsson"s as I have no need of winter wheels as the car will not be used then.

Love car OP, looks great with the grey contrast against the black.
Not much love for the wheels so far! For what it's worth I think they look miles better than the usual 'turbines'. Period Amg styling IVs would be my personal preference though.
Hope the electrical gremlins don't come visiting in the night!

Got a huge file of stuff going back to when it was new, lots of stuff done under warranty it would seem, over the last few years some of the suspension has been replaced when MB have suggested it at service and in my opinion just well looked after.
When I first saw the car it was in a lovely big double garage, covered in a fitted car cover and when it was removed I just knew it was the one for me!
TBH I think a lot of these issues seem to be caused by not using the car much and skimping on fluid/filter changes which I intend to do every year whether I do any miles in it or not, for me this could be a long term keeper as I think we have seen the last of these type of engines, but thats just my opinion.
Might have a different view after a few big bills but lets see.
