I am trying to get to the bottom of an issue with the horn.

There is no voltage to the horn feeds. I rigged a live cable to the horn and checked that the horn sounded.

I have checked the fuse - OK

I think have eliminated the relay being faulty - it is the same as the full beam so I switched them over.

When I was investigating I spotted that continuity failed between the back of the fuse box (Purple and white) and the same colour wire under the dash. The wire under the dash is soldered together and joins about 4 wires the same colour....Could this be to do with the alarm??

Here is a (bad) pic of the wires

The temptation is to run a new wire from the back of the fuse box up to the solder point....does that seem reasonable?

• Pull the fuse and see if you have power to one side or other of the fuse holder.
• Is the white/purple wire the supply to the fuse or the connection from fuse to the horn?
• Is the white/purple live with ignition on?
• If the white/purple is the output from the fuse, and is spliced to other wires, then other features on the car should also not be working.
