What a bugger, freshly made race engine, been running for one hour on "break-in" oil. Changed to regular oil and warmed it up, and BANG!!! Root cause beeing a brand new valve spring broken, and dropping a intake valve to the combustion chamber :-(

Doesn't quite cover it IMO.

I suspect the initial response would have caused the forum swear filter to have a breakdown!
Bad luck, what's saveable?

There's usually a good reason for a valve spring breaking. Not fitting correctly on the cap or spring seat base or becoming coilbound at full lift.

All valve springs failures I have seen have been down to coil bind, in fact I am amazed this is so often missed during build.

Who is the manufacturer?

I have got similar issues for using RS single valve springs.. They are totally crap.. Spring pressure after 2 summer is less than rover original spring.. And i also broke 1 spring, without any damage..
