Now that the dogfight module is under test, do we have anyone playing with this? How is it?

I'm in the beta - my i5 and GTX 570 struggles a bit though!

Piloting seems a bit sluggish, and I'm not sure about the HUD, but otherwise, seems promising. Absolutely loving the immersion factor though, and the detail on the ships is really impressive. I'm more looking forward to the FTL feature of crew command and being able to walk around your ship more than anything, especially twinned with something like the Oculus Rift.

I have both this and the elite dangerous beta, and I have to say at this point star citizen isn't in the same league as elite, flying in elite is way better, and there is no easy way to set up the controls in SC to my liking. This first release is also very limited, just shooting ships in a pretty box in space.
It's early days yet though.
Will give it another go later after a few patches.

You have to remember Elite was 4 years into the making before they even put it on kickstarter. Plus Star Citizen is going for a much much grader scale.

Playing a bit of the dogfight moduel when I get the chance, could do with key bindings as I like to use my G25 pedels for roll rudder on flight sims.

Really looking forward to boarding other ships and stuff smile

Well frontier themselves say they started from scratch during the kickstarter. But they had built the game engine and proved most of the concepts, so you are half right. But anyway that is irrelevant really, I fully expect star citizen to improve with time, but there isn't much to it as it stands, and the controls definitely need work.

The $20 option was limited to 5000 which sold very quickly...I believe they are planning on releasing another batch soonish.

The cheaper packages are there but dont look to be sorted in order.

$30 will get you the game
$40 will get you beta access
$45 will get you alpha
