911 engine sound

I'm new to this site. Iv just bought my first 996 3.6. It's my dream car and love it. My only concern is a noise from the engine, I'm no mechanic and don't know if it's normal. I'll explain the best I can. Ok, as on a normal engine you hear the engine ticking over and it's sounds sweet. But from the left of the engine there is like 'whom,whom, whom' it's about half a second between each one. It's kind of like something is unbalanced. I've listened to other 996s on utube and they sound the same. Is this normal and what is it.

Change oil and all filters, go for a long drive and then see how it is. Was the car inspected before bought? btw not usual sound.

In the comments at the end of your YT video, says it was cured by replacing the water pump...
