Does anyone know of a reputable Hi Fi Repairer who does not charge an arm and a leg? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a guy literally 100 yards from my house that fixes them, but I have a feeling Newcastle is going to be a bit far

Sorry for delay. My son has an Arcam amp which I suspect has a dry soldered joint somewhere as some times he looses a channel. It is an intermitent fault.
7oaks Hi Fi wanted £50 just to look at it and then charge repairs on top, I thought this was a bit expensive. Newcastle is a bit far away but I can always send it by courier service once I have spoken to them.

Send it back to Arcam, they have a service department, often the manufacturer is more reasonable in price than a local dealer. Give them a call on Monday, I'm sure they will be able to help.
