What tyres to get?
Discussion
Have a look on Blackcircles/mytyres/camskill for cheap tyres. Have a look on tyrereviews user reviews and proper tests. If its just a run around I'd be tempted to just go to my local branch of national tyres and bung a couple of Barums on there, common sizes can be had 2 for the price of 1 and they are a decent enough tyre.

Buy the best you can afford.
Go for Continental or Goodyear brands.
The "best" using what measure? Dry traction, wet cornering grip, noise, braking on ice, mileage/£, ride quality? Go for Continental or Goodyear brands.
Tyres are complex things that have to do a number of conflicting tasks. You can't buy any tyre that doesn't involve a bundle of compromises.
