What tyres to get?

Hi guys, I've got an 07 Punto and I need some new tyres any suggestions?

KUHMOs are a good mid range tyre, reasonably priced too, take a look at blackcircles.com

Have a look on Blackcircles/mytyres/camskill for cheap tyres. Have a look on tyrereviews user reviews and proper tests. If its just a run around I'd be tempted to just go to my local branch of national tyres and bung a couple of Barums on there, common sizes can be had 2 for the price of 1 and they are a decent enough tyre.

I do around 300 miles a week to work the majority of that being motorway so I was looking for something that would last a while

Your tyres will barely wear at all on the motorways, I drive 400 miles a week, mainly motorways and have had my current tyres on for at least 24,000 miles, and thats on a heavy FWD diesel that is generally quite heavy on its tyres!

Always went with Khumo until I got a sportier car, lasted ages considering my driving and great wet & dry grip

The "best" using what measure? Dry traction, wet cornering grip, noise, braking on ice, mileage/£, ride quality?

Tyres are complex things that have to do a number of conflicting tasks. You can't buy any tyre that doesn't involve a bundle of compromises.

So buy the best compromise. All the tyre tests I've seen mark Contis, Goodyear and Michelin at or near the top of the score charts. If I had a small hatchback I'd spend money on quality tyres and dampers as the best 'upgrade'.

I've had Kumhos but they don't last particularly long. Just replaced mine with Uniroyal Rain Sports.
