Does anyone know about Load ratings ? The original tyres were 92/94 rating which equates to 630/670 kg on each tyre .
Why do insurance companies go by the original tyres which were fitted to the car when new, they were way over !
I may have to remove my front tyres : 83. loading which is 487kg which is still twice the weight of the car .

Load ratings are specified for each car type by the manufacturer. This is according to the specified "maximum technically permissable mass for each axle", which is 670kg front and 760kg rear for the T350. That equates to 87 front and 91 rear with standard tyre fit of 225/35R18 front and 235/40 R18 rear. At least this is what i gather from the documentation i have.
Per definition you can always go for higher ratings than specified, but never lower.
Dunno the correct values for other TVR types, though.

What are yo talking about? As above most modern TVRs left with a 87 to 91 load rating, not 92/94. TVR did not specify a load rating in the handbook: http://www.tvr-car-club.co.uk/images/archives/Chim...
Have you told your insurance co. that your tyres should have a load rating higher than the ones which you have currently got fitted and so your insurance company don't like that?

The big problem is my track day tyres .fronts are only 87 on a W . Have you told your insurance co. that your tyres should have a load rating higher than the ones which you have currently got fitted and so your insurance company don't like that?
One of the big names in tyres told me that
All tyres fitted to larger than factory standard wheels will have no warranty and will be ilegall to drive on the road ,also i can be prosecuted by the Police even if the load values are correct and the insurance company is aware of the different size wheels .
Any tyres fitted must have the same or higher load than the tyre which the car came out the factory even if the company stated lower .

You seem to be tying yourself in knots here. I don't agree with the sentence that you've written but say it's true then how do you know what load rating of tyre was on your car? Did you buy it new? Even if you did do you have photographic evidence? Did TVR put the minimum ratings in writing ? I can`t see the minimum rating be set on what tyres which came on the cars from new . and I don't know what basis that statement was made but post in SP&the L if you're worried. AFAIK it's nonsense. The wheels and tyres need to be 'suitable for the car and the use to which it's being put.'
