STOLEN 1974 2.7 911 Carrrera- Lourmarin 84160 France 14/15

Not my car but a fellow classic 911 enthusiast has had his car stolen in France, see below. If you see or hear anything please contact via pm and I will pass on the details.

Hello all
My car was stolen from in front of the hotel Moulin de Lourmarin, Lourmarin 84160 Vaucluse France last night the 14th June [between 2300 and 0900] just before the Porsche Club Mediteranee Fete des Classics today [see http://www.fete-classics.info/] with 200 classic Porsches in Lourmarin.
it's an uncommon car , a 1974 2.7 Carrera [US origin] white with green carrera stripes and wheels [like an RS] and ducktail- dark black tinted windows.
UK registered [but LHD] KGV 36N
Non standard parts- twin turbo exhaust, RECARO racing seats, MOMO ProtoTipo steering wheel, WEVO all alloy short shift kit.
Can we get this across Europe via all Porsche networks SAP please? - who knows?
It was reported to the Gendarmerie in Cadenet [nearest station] at c. 1130 this AM but I have more faith in the power of DDK/IB and other porsche owners networks..........................
Clearly I will now not be at CLM with you guys with the car as planned- but please keep your eyes peeled for it there?

Saw this on DDK. What a beautiful car, he must be absolutely gutted...

I've emailed a few chums, you never know, someone will spot it at some point.

Having personally lost a number of cars over the years including cars used later in serious crime, which caused even more problems, I have every sympathy for the owner. It is absolutely gutting and it is difficult to accept. Regrettably the thieves are getting better than the car makers at devising security bypasses. I hope the vehicle is found although most of mine were not. I have every sympathy for the owner and his family. I hope the scrotes are caught and punished. Sadly I think that is unlikely.

Gutting ! Some time ago ( and maybe still is) Marseilles was the place to get your motorcycle stolen - you are in that vicinity unfortunately.

Gutted for clive. He reckons it could possibly have been lifted onto a flat bed as no one heard the car being started ( pretty loud back box on it )

A lot of early / rare Porsches being stolen these days . Spa seems to be a hot spot too

Sorry about that - and i know how it feels, my loved RS was stolen too a couple weeks ago.

Good luck with the insurance, hope they are fair, and you are able to move on quickly.
