RS 4.0..... Super rare school bus??
Discussion
I'm not a big 911 fan to be honest, unless it's a GT3, but there is one 911 that I really have a soft spot for and that's the RS 4.0.
On the school run this morning, lo and behold, an RS 4.0 cruises by at walking pace in traffic. I thought these were super rare collector things, and not the kind of car you'd use to drop off a sprog at school...
Looked absolutely stunning, but my question is.... How rare are these beauties?!

Doesn't the 4.0 have a history of engine problems? Take the 3.8 and pocket a few hundred grand imho.
TX.
No. I think you might be confused with the 991 GT3 which had some teething problems with the first ones off the production line. The 4.0 is a fantastic engine. TX.
Chris Harris owned one and raved about it. See this video.

Wasn't there a recall on the 4.0 for some small part in the intake system that could work loose to be ingested and lunch the engine, or something similar? Not an inherent problem with the motor itself, but I seem to remember a handful of cars had to have replacement engines as a result.
