help!! advice needed

The fuel pump seized on my 1982 fhc 280 a couple of months ago. Have replaced it, but ever since then the fuse blows after about 50miles.
it was a 10amp fuse before, its fine with a 20amp. Earths are good.
What size of fuse do you use and why is mine blowing? It's doing my nut in...

Yeh, as said, crud from tanks or pipe breaking down could be jamming pump and cause it to blow fuse.
The pipes we took off Delilah were in a right state inside.
