£7-8k m3 convertible smg 100k+ what to consider
Discussion
What needs to be considered on say a £7-8k m3 convertible smg with 100k+ miles?
Can the smg be driven like a conventional auto, ie stick it in drive and away you go around town, hill holds etc.?
2002 100k miles what needs to be considered?
I know its a sports car but what combined mpg like on these?

consider everything LOL
rear subframe
roof mechanism
trailing arm bushes
brakes get eaten through very quickly
alternators are known to pack up
rust under wing mirrors
has the rearview mirror got black patches when they start to leak
accident damage common as RWD
SMG useless in auto mode
MPG I used to get approximately 13mpg around town, maybe 25mpg on a steady motorway run
don't expect more than 200-250 miles out of a tank at best - with a tank about £90

NEVER drive it like an auto, because it's basically still a manual transmission. At that price and mileage you pretty much have to beware of everything, and be aware that tyres, brakes, etc. are not cheap so factor that into the price.
