hi, all, I alm looking at moving over from Aston to Ferrari, ulp! took me a while to write that biggrin

I have phoned several dealers some didn't answer the phone, all committed to call backs but were either late or have not called back at all. is this a common issue with Ferrari dealers?

I have a 2013 V12V to trade and am looking for a 430 Coupe soI would have though it would be an interesting deal, are Ferraris that easy to sell?

Simon

It is traditional for all car dealers not to call back or reply to emails - its a simple test of how serious you are (they believe)

Having said that maybe its the trade they are not interested in (especially as it could involve cash back)

You're not the first to consider trading up from Aston to Ferrari - there have been quite a few threads here in recent months alone

I would be shot of the Aston before walking into your specific Ferrari dealership or specialist and discussing a cash or part finance deal.

Hi, you may want to consider the independent dealers - Mr Wheeler at the well known Hindhead specialist will return your call and he is usually available 24/7. And he has a good looking, reasonable miles, 2008 F430 F1 Coupe for sale.

I almost bought a 2012 v12v about six weeks ago, but went for a 430 spider instead. My logic was was based on depreciation (amongst other things). Would be interested to hear why you are making the switch?

Sadly, all too common. I moved from a V12Vantage to an F12 (well 2 of them), dealer very rarely replies to email, never responds to contact through their group website, direct phone calls I gave up on and eventually I got a mobile and that would be responded to. They can't be arsed, and still sell all cars they get their hands on.

Racing seats were pretty rare. They also transform the experience to something much more sporting/harsh

As to colours silver is hard for resale, shame as it looks great. Popular colours are red, black and Grigio silverstone

Independent dealers are your best bet if P/X your AM or could do SOR if your are holding out for more £. The Ferrari Centre in Kent usually has interesting stock and they're spot on with client service, after sales care and sensible on values buying and selling. good luck

It is unbelievable, almost disgustingly arrogant the way dealers treat potential customers, as the op says it is a sure sign of what can be expected when the chips are down. If I am spending money no matter how much or on what it means a lot to me a when the seller appreciates the deal in hand.
I bought my 360 from a gentleman in Hitchin who sells upmarket cars, it was a pleasure and it helps to make the car yet more special, by being more friendly and earnest and wanting the deal the seller can actually better himself. FWIW I dislike dealers generally whether it be commercial or with cars. A lot of the dealers think they are worth more than the sum of their parts. Especially most salesmen. Mike

These stories beggar belief. Man with cash wants to buy car. Salesman, presumably on commission, not interested.

How can that be? I just don't get it. I'd be like a bloodhound for cash hehe.
Good luck with your search. Hopefully you'll find a dealer who actually wants to deal!

According to one main dealer the race seats in a 430 make it worth less (No I was not trying to sell a car with race seats, it was just a general chat). The reason is that most people find them really uncomfortable. I thought they were OK but my wife agreed and thought they were the most uncomfortable seats she has sat in. Bearing in mind sitting in everything from Elise seats to porsche sport seats were OK it is something you need to consider. Interestingly for a 458 NOT having the race seats devalues it. Ferrari is really strange and very spec specific if you want to reduce resale losses.

Interesting. I have Daytona seats in my 430 and they are the worst I have ever sat in. The headrest is so far away from where my head is that it would serve no purpose in an accident (and any adjustment I make to the seat doesn't improve things). Being 6'2" I also feel like I am sitting "on" rather than "in" the car. I was going to try and source some sports seats but maybe I need to try them first if they are equally uncomfortable.
