Royal Mail and scratched vehicle?

Has anyone attempted to do anything about having had their vehicle (in this case massive fking scratches) damaged by the postman?

I'm assuming that not having CCTV evidence or having caught them in the act I'm basically st out of luck as it's their word vs. mine.

A year or so back the postman hit and damaged the slate obelisk I had commissioned and installed only a matter of months earlier...

Contacted royal mail and the matter was resolved swiftly and satisfactorily... New replacement was ordered, delivered and installed and all paid for by them.

Contact them and get the ball rolling.

That was before they were privatised. I bet they are much less willing to pay out any money nowadays.

Pretty much my assumption, but I didn't know if anyone had tried to claim and found their default position was "Prove it" or if they were actually decent to deal with.

Of course I can't categorically prove it.

Its along the lines of someone coming up to you and saying that you damaged their vehicle but they have no proof that you did. How would you react to this
