Wireless networking - poor signal

I have Kcorps wireless hardware, with an ADSL modem router, and 2 PC's linked with PCI cards - only one picks up a nice strong signal, and the other which is only 10m or so from the router, started by receivig a signal, but now won't paick up anything.

I chose the KCorps stuff because it was supposed to have an excellent range and fast data transfer - but not if there's no signal!!

Has anyone tried using an add-on antennna like Netgear's ANT2405 ceiling mount? Or am I barking up the wrong tree, and should I be working out WinXP vs. KCorps software problems first?

Anything in line of sight? In my experience water tanks etc really muck up the signal strength.

Has it occurred to you that the adapter may have packed up? What happens if you stick the basestation/router right next to the offending box?

Wireless phones, microwaves, other wireless devices, etc can sometimes interfere with the signal...

Nothing except a few walls and floors, oh ,possibly a bath and shower unit

There is a large metal bed in the room above the study where the router is - maybe there's some interference, but it did work to start with, then refused to pick up a signal.

It is all working, because the nearest computer picks up a good strong signal.
