You would only be able to claim your RFL back in whole-months so it wouldn't be too economical in the long run.

I knew a Jewish fella who was trying to negotiate a discount with his insurers on the basis that he didn't use his car one day out of seven (the Sabbath).

Am I the only one who has more than one car, all of which are kept off the highway, with only one potential driver? Of course I`m not. So why do we have to pay RFL for all three?

Disc should be transferrable, with stiff penalties for having a car on the road withour one.

If thats a sunday he should get a 90% discount! All the wits are out then and I try to avoid driving on a sunday whereever possible.

Both my "pull out in front of my bike" accidents happened on a sunday

From the Government's POV this is a good reason NOT to put all RFL duty on petrol.

Ditto. The government surely know this.

I too have considered getting a SORN now and then, instead of letting the disc "go to waste", but obviously the red tape is a lot of hassle (probably made difficult intentionally in the way that the public sector does best).
