Think this would go some in a Wedge. Then again engine is probably worth more than the vast majority of our cars........

How much extra BHP can a "standard" Wedge take before things start to break?

The white elephant and Steve Heath's "Purple Shed" are good pointers.

Vulnerable components include the driveshafts, gearbox, clutch and diff beam probably in that order.

Around 400bhp seems to be a sensible limit, anything near 500 and you start to eat up the components in the list very quickly, not to mention rear tyres...

Nice looking engine and I think it would suit a wedge but as for the wedge taking 500 plus yank ponies will you will need some upgrades hehe
I was told a 400SE could run 350bhp ok through the LT77 box but it would need to be a total refresh and like new to start with, the prop should be ok with new UJs and if your drive shafts are the type with the larger UJ is also should be good but the alloy diff frame is some thing that would need some re-engineering but all in all not taking in account you would need brakes suspension mods to help it stay on the road and stop and if your going all out why not TC to make it more of a daily driver is all conditions.
