2 weeks tomorrow, we'll be off to Calais for a night over and drive to La Sarthe Friday morning, starting to look forward to it now.

Car needs to go on the rolling road, new throttle cable assembly fitted, suspension set up then the long haul down there, should be another great weekend.

Me Me Me.

Still need to perform a test erection of the tent, and have a trial of fitting everything in the car to make sure it all fits.

And my tickets haven't been dispatched yet - is anyone else still waiting for Classic tickets to be sent?

I cocked up my order originally and didn't ask for them to be posted so phoned the ACO and added postage the next day. Hopefully they'll turn up!

I would be if the DVLA would pull their finger out and register my bloody car! It's to be my first time there too!

I haven't got the V5C back from them yet either for my car. I emailed them and they just said "we no longer issue temporary registration documents. You take the car abroad at your own risk"

Nice.

I've got a photocopy of the old V5C with my name written in the "new owner" bit, and I've got the green bit I keep - hopefully that'll do if I do get stopped by Les Gendarmes (although I'm planning on avoiding that if at all possible!)

Looking very much forward.
Staying with SpeedChills in BleuSud and taking my dad who has never been to LM before. I've did the 24 in 2011 but never the classic.
My tickets are yet to arrive but not unduly worried.

We are taking the MGB GT V8 down on the Thursday unless of course when we do a practice 'pack' there isn't enough room- let's face it there's never enough room in an MG- then we will be taking the reserve car which is not too shabby- a 1960 Mk2 Jag....

I very much hope all the bad behavior I've been reading about on the other threads isn't replicated at the classic.

It is not. I have been on the Speed Chills site in 2010 and 2012. Very relaxed and some nice cars on site. As for packing I made it two up in a Caterham - so you should be fine!

Indeed. I did my first Classic in 2012 and there was no sign of such stuff apart from some light encouragement for people to do burnouts in Arnage town on Saturday night (but no problems if you didn't do it)

I've just brought mine over from Republic of Ireland about 2 weeks ago, so had to send in the required forms, ID, insurance etc. I'm abroad at minute but have mailed them several times with different info coming back. One mail said 72 hours to process, yet another says 2 weeks! Meanwhile the cars under lock and key. If only they hadn't closed all the local offices!

Back on topic, can anyone suggest a quiet campsite? I'm still trying to persuade the Mrs but may be going alone.

nono

That's not only cheating (you must trust your man-maths instinct and intuition that it will all work out OK) but it also wastes precious beer drinking time.

I'm sure I'll not be the only confused person trying to erect a tent at Maison Blanche.

Travelling on Thursday 3rd July - 7:20 Tunnel with a few others incl Chim 500, XJR, Alfa 4C smile

Looks like it could be a record attendance this year, I know loads of people going to the Classic rather then the main event.

4th Classic for me and I cannot wait smile

I know what you mean...I was rooted to the sofa with Eurosport most of Saturday evening / Sunday morning...

I tend to switch between the main event and Classic each time, I'm planning on doing both next year...might even stay out there smile

Camping with PH 1st Tickets - still no sign of any tickets yet!

Reading all the topics about extreme yobbo behaviour at LM24 as worried me slightly, will LMC be anything like this?

I happen to be on holiday in France whilst the classic is on. Stopping near Bayeux, a 2 hour drive according to autoroute.....

Is it worth a day trip?

Have already been given permission from SWMBO so that's the big hurdle overcome!
