What to buy after a M3 CSL ????

It' quite simply is what it said on the tin,
Iv currently got a cracking CSL but I always for some reason
Find myself trawling the classifieds and looking at c2s 993's ????
My worry is that after the csl this is going to feel really dated, so i have also
Been looking at 997 c2s but will it feel special enough after my csl ????
What are your thoughts ????
Iv never owned a porsche or even driven one in anger so what do you think is best ?

CSL will be a tough act to follow. A 993 or 997 C2S will be far less focussed than the CSL. A 996 GT3 whilst very different to a CSL would offer you similar levels of driver engagement. Also consider a Cayman R.

In all honesty after a CSL a 'normal' 911 will boring imo. I moved from CSL to 997 RS and still havent managed to get the courage to sell the CSL.

If I were you I would try to keep the CSL and try some pork then decide what to do from there.

A 996/7 GT3 is the only car I'd replace a CSL for.

Had one. Absolutely adored it. Possibly the best performance road car ever made. BMW's zenith.

I'd drive the Porsche before considered selling the CSL. You may find you simply change your mind, or it'll confirm the desire?

CSL will be tough to beat though.

Only joking!! Keep it, I had one and regret selling it. I bought it with 4k miles and sold it at 27k miles, loved every one of them. Lost 13 grand on it too, that wouldn't happen now. But prices and values aside, it was great fun and I'd love another one.
I replaced it with a 997.2 c2s which i bought brand new and did 40k miles in it. It felt rather lazy and inert straight after the csl but it was my first 911 and i wasn't driving it right. 911's take time but keep on giving. After a few drives in the csl I felt like I was it's master. I don't think I was ever the master of the 997, I was always learning. I still drive plenty of 911's of different years and types and love the fact that they are not the same as other cars. They're not as easy.
So I would say yes, get a 997 but for god's sake, keep the csl too. . .

Would only consider replacing a CSL with something like a GT3. Absolutely not a standard 911 or even a cayman R. Actually I'd do whatever it took on the man maths to keep the CSL as well even if I were to be buying a gt3!

It might take a lot of man maths to have a CSL and GT3 but they do look good together....

Fantastic car. Hugely underrated in my opinion. Only a GT3 would provide a similar experience.

I've had a couple of CSL's. I'd definitely suggest a 996GT3 as being a contender to replace one. I'd also consider a 987 Spyder or CR. I've owned all these cars (except the CR), and I'd find it difficult to pick a favourite.

That was before my current 996GT2...that's definitely the winner!
