Have an opportunity on a 30k mile 550M from a friend in the US - has anyone imported a US Spec 550 and knows what was needed to be modified?
The US spec cars have the rectangular marker lights and no round indicator repeaters but is that the only difference?
Any information welcome?
Regards
Dave

Check for E mark (euro compliance) on glass & lights (also can headlights switch beam side or are new one required ?) & tyres - add fog light - pay VAT - others may have more to add to the list

For a fifty or sixty thousand buck car it might be worth doing but the market seems closer to eighty

Duty as well to pay I think, also need to check emissions as the car amy not have a Euro CoC so not sure if that might cause registration problems, think it would have to be pretty cheap to compete with Euro lhd pricing

My instinct is that by the time you have paid shipping, VAT, duty and other associated costs, it will probably end up costing you as much as a UK car of similar mileage and condition. And you will still have a LHD import, worth less than the UK car you could have bought.
