Been having alook at engine cranes there seems to be a 1 ton and 2 ton all look the same just different branding.

Has anyone used one of these on the Chimaera, I guess it would have to be at full extension rated at 250 or 500kg to clear the front of the car.

Whats the rough weight of a Rover V8

also T5 gearbox weight if pulling as one.

The below is a standard 1 tonne crane. Think I had it on the middle setting for 500kg, lifting both engine and gearbox together, no problems with clearance.

Don't worry to much about the weight, get one with a dam long arm

I got this one from ebay for about £170.00 New delivered (search 2 tonne) with the adjustable engine thingy bob...Lunch time drinking sorry I cant think whats its called drink

Was that with the body on, as in pic you can see chassis ?

Ah...very good point. Yes the body was already off. Even so there was enough left in the lifting range I'd say to not worry.

A load leveller may be handy especially if taking the box and engine out in one hit.
