GT3 daily driver - first 2000 miles

I've had my 991 GT3 for two weeks now and have done 2200 miles using it to commute and including over 1k miles in the last three days 'repping' to see customers in the south.
Lots of motorways, a fair amount of time in London and Norfolk so a mixture of city, country thrashes and bloody traffic jams.
Observations:
Very easy to live with, no more stressful than my old golf diesel day to day
Bucket seats are absolutely fine - eight hours driving today and not a twinge from my back
Fine in multi story car parks with only minor front spoiler graunching (no axle lift)
Lots of filling up - 10 mpg in town and an average of 21mpg
Reasonably discrete and doesn't cause much excitement to passers by - a good point in my view
It feels like it will do 150k miles with ease no matter how hard it gets thrashed
Sound system / Nav / Bluetooth / aircon all work very well
PDK can be a bit dumb in standard mode
Noise levels at Mway speeds reasonable, mainly tyre roar (sports exhaust off)
The switch from cruiser to rabid dog is fantastic / amazing when the road clears
Overall a cracking car - I'll report again at 100k miles...

....and testament to this great cars usability.....yours will probably be the only mileage based as opposed to time based GT3 servicing schedule.....congratulations!APOLO1 said:
when you get chance do a LC, start, this will open up another" MAPP", in the box, after which the box will seem more alive in none SP "dumb" mode....
try it and you will see....
will try this, the gearbox as it is now in normal mode is the worst thing about the car. suprised they made it like this as standard.try it and you will see....

Echoes my experience of PDK in another Porsche model, it just acts so stupidly in normal (full auto) mode. Always in the wrong gear at any given point in time, didn't like it
Interesting to see how things have changed. When the 991 GT3 was announced as PDK only, there was quite a bit of wailing and gnashing of teeth as the sky fell in at the thought of no manual option. Now here we are raving about PDK and launch control on the same car. There's no doubt in my mind that Porsche has changed substantially as a result of VW and many people are seeing the 997 GT cars as definitely the last of a breed. Maybe Porsche would have gone this way without VW, who knows, but the 991 GT3 is definitely in a different place in the market than the 996 or 997 was. In a way, it's great to see a car like the 991 GT3 that is genuinely useable as a daily driver, so there's definitely a place for it.
Out of interest, anyone with a 991 GT3 on order for delivery later this year and trading in a 997 GT3 against it, should do pretty well, the way prices on the older cars are going.

This really shouldn't be the case. Successful people are generally good at what they do, the product/service/role they perform is likely to be one that is valued by customers. Rocking up in a smart car should perhaps give confidence not drive envy. Anyway, well O/T.I'll shut the door on my way out
