Vredestein Sportrac 5 Tyres?

Greetings gents!

I am looking to replace the Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres on my Capri. Whilst they still have plenty of tread left on them, they were fitted in *1998.* Obviously, the car is only used on a limited mileage basis, during the summer period. I feel it is time to replace the F1 tyres for safety reasons. I have 'played' with the car, so it now punts out nigh on 300 lbs ft of torque, and circa 275 Bhp. Quality tyres are essential! I have 15 inch alloys on my car, so I am restricted to some degree, due to the ridiculous contemporary fashion for huge alloys and paper thin low profile tyres.

I am interested in the Vredestein Sportrac 5 tyres. They seem to be very highly regarded, according to reviews I have read on the internet. I was wondering if anybody on PH has experience of these tyres? If so, I would be extremely grateful for your opinion on them.

Can't give experience of the tyre in question but I've just fitted 4 Vrederstein Ultrac Sessantas to an E36 328 and so far they've been excellent (albeit a touch harder on the motorway with increased noise).

I've used older Sportrac tyres (2 and 3 I think) on various cars and swore by them, great tyres but then my first experience was replacing Pirelli P6000's and second was replacing Yokohama C Types and neither were great comparisons because they were so poor. I think a lot of TVR guys use various Vredesteins so they should be able to handle a similar car like yours. My experience of them was mainly on lighter low powered cars and the only issue I can think of was poor wear but in your case that's not likely to be an issue

Only reason I'm not using them now is down to size/availability so now I'm using Uniroyal Rainsports instead which feel softer.
