Anyone seen the 2009 reg Sagaris which is up for sale...
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

Not my thing personally, but couldn't help notice the scuffed wheel!! Good work for 378 miles laugh

I'll give him the benefit of doubt that the wheels came off a car which had more use

>£66k for an unfinished project seems a bit steep plus I really do not like the headlight treatment or the exhausts.
I know the LS lump is fantastic but you could buy a good standard Sag, drive it for a few years and if necessary have a Power engine rebuild and still have change!

"I will not sell it to anyone under 35 who does not have previous experience of this level of performance"

Shame... because I have a 34 year old friend who was willing to give him £20k over the asking price!

Not really, but my god what an offensively arrogant statement to put in an advert where you're attempting to sell something.

Wheels look to be the early Jade design which haven't been available for years.
Headlights are standard just not finished off with the cover yet and the exhaust was how the Mark II Sagaris was going to be done.

Have to admit a lot of dosh for an unfinished project.

Know where you're coming from, but I read it as quite a clever marketing ploy as opposed an arrogant 'I know better' statement....hope I'm correct though.

I wonder how many cars there are which were completed/registered post-factory demise.

Is the (unfinished) one at Racing Green really going to be the last ever one, or are there more shells hidden away somewhere?

Seems to me their are two lines of thought here. Go with a straight speed six up grade to 4.3 or 4.5 as I have done, (both) or go down the LS route. The cost must come into play. The straight six upgrade what ever you think is still 12 k + And it can be a big + . The car in question @ £. 66 k seems to me spot on price considering the work carried out, always thought that the V8 conversion is 10 k more than a straight upgrade. Given my time again I would still go with a 4.5 , but I know 2 who have gone L S and they wouldn't change. Going back to my car the performance is all I want which is fantastic , but the guys I know with L S still think that the extra 100 hp is great! . Don't shot me down for the approx figures , my thoughts only as a 4.3 and a 4.5 owner, regards....

I wonder how much more you'd have to spend to:

a. Trim the interior;
b. Change the exhausts back to side exit;
c. Respray (something less discreet); and
d. Replace wheels back to standard

(oh and e. source and fit headlight covers)

Thats a modern day 'Not for the faint hearted' dribble.

This car is too manly for you.

You couldn't handle it

It'll put hairs on your chest

No poofs allowed

It's an animal

Etc

There's quite a few young people with more money than sense, and while it's not the sellers responsibility, I wouldn't want to hear that they've wiped the car, and themselves with it, off the planet within a few hours/days of ownership.

The covers are fitted if you look closely, there just lacking the usual black edging.

I spotted that the lenses had been fitted and very well too, the black border Is usually in place to hide the adhesive.
Clever and neat to leave the lenses clear ...... I for one like the look, not so sure about the rest though.
At 66k I've seen much better for less ....... Just my point of view

This car has been for sale before and in my opinion is not done very well.

But what I would say it is a late model sagaris and it has a very good engine in it. If you took it to someone like Topcats and threw some money at it I think it would be a good buy.

Not sure why you would want to put the exhaust to side exit, on one of the posts above it says "back to side exit" They would not have ever been side exit, it is a late model Sagaris and that is why they are rear though I was lucky and got two late model sagaris's with side ones. It also helps to make an efficient system the way they are.

Also above it says wheels back to standard - once again they are standard, that is how some of the late cars left the factory.

Whilst they might not be as efficient as straight pipes, the side exit exhausts are a big part of the Sags visual appeal for me. I'm a tart like that... The approx cost of turning them sideways is all I was interested in.

Id also be interested to hear why you feel the car is an inferior build?

I don't agree that it's a bad installation, I have seen the car in the flesh, it's well thought out and built by a guy who has decades of experience in building very very good cars.

Dry sump tank at the rear
Lots of chassis mods - derived from experience in racing Sagaris
Engine is further back than a topcats conversion as the chassis has been modified - can't be a bad thing

There are a few things I would change, like the intake and the position of the alternator ..... But that's easy.

Ls7 powered Sagaris that has done a few hundred miles since new...what could be better?

Exhaust manifold, exhaust routing, alternator position, air filter position (unreal), brackets used, radiator and cooling pipes, no oil coolers. I could write a bigger list! If I remember correctly when it was for sale last time the engine did not seem to sit in the center of the car, not sure why they have done anything with the chassis? Mine develops a lot more power I have not done anything to mine.

I do not have a LS7 in mine anymore but this is what mine did look like (it had two incarnations of it).

On the age note, I''m just shy of 30 and owned a sag for 3 years. No crashes here, what a ridiculous advert.

There are things i do and don't like about this car but what race Sag did they build and run successfully if someone is in the know?, the only race Sag i knew of that did not run a Tuscan chassis was the Winstanley monster which was built in Birmingham!Just nosy
Paul had a couple of friends call after seeing the LS9 today @ Topcats and they where all blown away by the install, you know i want to take it up the runway for a comparison?? Still think your crazy and need TC but i dip my hat to you just for doing it clap
Did not see you at the CSCC what happened?
