I know I`m stating the obvious but bear with me.

Take a walk through any town during the day and you`ll see some of the most disgusting human beings that have ever lived. I have nothing against anyone carrying a few extra pounds or the odd stone but Jesus, some of the gargantuan , heaving piles of blubber waddling around need to have a long hard look in the mirror (not the circus ones that make you look slimmer) and sort themselves out.
It seems bloated is the new norm. When I was a kid there was the one school `fatty`. Now it`s half the class. School sports day is all about `taking part` now as opposed to competing. My pal has just fallen out with his sister for mentioning his fat sisters, fat kid. She feed`s him like an adult and can`t see the problem. She and her man look like hippos and obviously don`t see the problem as all their friends are colossal.
To really rag me up my girlfriend is 5,9" and a size 10/12. She`s is getting remarks at work for being `too thin` and `needing to put on weight` funnily enough from most of the fat munters that are sponsored by KFC and pizza hut. Not only that but guys are starting to say things like "I prefer my women with a bit of meat on them", and surprisingly enough their other halves are slightly rotund. They`ll say that then head off to internet porn central for a one way trip to the billy mill roundabout looking at some skinny big jugged 21 year old.

Another thing that bugs me is when somebody obviously obese says " I don`t eat that much" or "I`m big boned". They didn`t get that size by not eating, it`s basic biology. People in Ethiopia are skinny as they have little to eat, they`re not on a diet.

What`s the answer? Farmfoods 20 chops for £1 next door to a `food bank`? Come on, this needs seen to.

I know I,ll kop flak for this from some `large` dudes sitting in their pants with a pie infront of the computer but hey ho, it`s getting out of control. I,m going to Switzerland next month where all the people are the right shape (barr the odd British /American tourist). Probably my case will be 1kg over weight and I,ll be charged £30 while Miss `Humpty Dumpty` in front waddles on to the plane charge free.

I`m not a hater, it`s just getting a bit much now. No one with any sense of logic can say it`s evolution or natural. We`re not naturally programmed to be this physically impaired. Surely it can`t get worse.

Opine.

Oh it can get worse.
Watched an ex go from a size 10/12 to 18+ since I left her.
She's happier now being bigger! confused
Anyway she's now on juice plus diet  probably because her family has told her to lose weight.

Best friend works a lot, his partner does not so is a "full time mummy" (it annoys him a lot). Their daughter is a year old but bigger than her 5 year old cousin!
Doesn't suprise me though with the diet. And his partner let herself go as well laugh

I watched a friend from school go from 7 stone wet to triple that over a couple of years. His GF was easily 18 stone at the time and she fed him. He seems happy though so good on him.

So many more examples I have laugh

Oh and recently a friend of mine, his partner got a disabled badge because she can't walk very far because she's too fat!
That annoys me massively.

Conspiracy theory.

It costs a fortune for the government to look after old people so they are fattening us up to die in service.

Death in service = no pension pay out or long term care costs.

Oh fatty bum bum fatty fatty bum bum biggrin

It is very noticeable if you go abroad, say to France. It's difficult to spot an overweight person, let alone obese. Most seem slim, fit and healthy! Don't know why it should be so different over here - I guess just taking our culture from across the Atlantic rather than the channel...

We moved to Iowa for five years in the mid noughties. When we first got there we'd comment on all the fatty boom booms and say 'well at least it's not like that back home'. Five years later we returned and everyone had seemingly ballooned!

I also swim for the local club and in the junior squads there are a lot more fat or 'slightly overweight' kids (bit podgy, love handles etc.) than there was when I was the same age.

Most people seem to have a really warped idea of ideal body image. On the one hand I know a lass who is much like your gf in size and thinks she's a heffer, always trying to slim down despite not needing it at all. Then you have loads of somewhat chunky people who think being 15 stone at under 6 foot is "normal" (and before some bodybuilding type moans, I mean sedentary non-built types). They see the really huge people and think that is what overweight means, despite most of them being obese.

We have a porker at work, she has been told that leggings are not acceptable as work wear. Everyone gets polo shirts, hers are 4x XL! She's started to complain that she can't get black trousers in her size, I had to resist the urge to tell her to put the Yorkie down. I'm 6ft and 85kg, I get called skinny by most of the porkers, they all say I should eat more. I went through what I do eat in a day with one of them, it's 3 times as much as they eat.

The phrase doesn't make sense anyway. Meat is muscle. Fat is fat. You don't buy a meat pie and hope to find it filled with fat. You want to find it filled with meat. Which is muscle. biggrin

You mean what you eat and what they claim to eat. You don't get fat eating nothing. They can't all have thyroid problems.

Do you mean that (being ironic), or do you mean they eat three times as much as you?

Very much agree with the op. I'm smack in the middle of normal BMI for my height and weight (5ft7; 9st5) and people are constantly telling me I'm too thin and look ill etc. These are all people that are at least overweight according to the BMI charts. I don't go and tell the fatties that they're too fat so what gives them the right to say I'm supposedly too thin?

Problem is a healthy lifestyle is a hard thing to follow when everyone around you doesn't care what they eat. I was not liked for taking a quest bar and a bottle of water to a meet when everyone else had fast food.

The game is rigged in favour of obesity. People get stressed and they eat processed sugary crap to feel happy.

The supermarket formula that works the best these days is to sell the cheapest nutritionally empty crap possible. My local tesco tried to change by stocking hundreds of health foods but I fear no one is interested.

The person that I compared intake with eats less than me, which is a fairy tale when you look at the size of them and the trips to the vending machine. They also post on face book the visits for takeaways. Whenever cakes come in the office it's like watching a shark feeding frenzy

Just ask them if their jeans have shrunk. As you walk up the stairs behind them.

They're all fat and jolly, saying you're too thin, tell them "No, i'm normal it's that you're too fat."

Fatties.
