Was passing through T5 last week and spotted one of these:
http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/...

Really like the look of them and it sounded ok (as well as can be judged in a shop...)

Looking for something to act as a dock (we are an android house, so not bothered that the ipod connection is the old style) and wireless stream music to. Also pretty sold on the allshare side of things for using with other samsung bits of kit.

Anyone got one? Am I just being a massive mug and wanting it because of the valves?

Piece of st.

If you want a proper valve amplifier then buy one.

Heck - you can even build one.
As long as you can follow a simple instruction manual step by step - you can end up with an amplifier outperforming commercial units costing 20x as much.

Thanks for the reply, but it doesn't really help me at all (not even one little bit)

Can you elaborate on how it is a piece of st? Have you got one and hated it? Have you heard one? (I did, and as I said, it sounder fine for a £450 unit with all the bells and whistles it has) Is the build quality crap? Can you suggest an alternative?

A valve amplifier I build myself won't have wi-fi, bluetooth or tie in with my other Samsung bits the way allshare allows you to. It won't look as nice as the Samsung unit. You tell me if I want valves, to buy a valve amp and then say to build one - which is it? The Samsung is £450, are you telling me you can build a valve amp, with decent speakers, woofer and all the connectivity that the Samsung has for £22.50?

If it sound good to you. Buy it. smile

Edit... The valves used aren't powerful enough to give to 100W. They will be used as a pre-amp.
