sadly in the subsequent years it suffered an incident.

yes, lovely garage and I think a good company, but the car "has history" thats why its been for sale sine last year.

yes sadly, I am very sure.
I very nearly didnt buy a car due to misinformation and lies from a PH and 911uk forum member so I wanted to post this to warn people to do your own research.

Following the above information I received on 911uk I have exchanged many emails about this car with Trantorman and he has been adamant this car has been crashed badly and repaired badly. Anyway after him telling me many times to spend my money elsewhere I found out he had been trying to buy the car himself since April by trading his Bentley against it.

I have seen the emails between him and Adrian Blyth who was selling the car. Emails even this week saying I have now sold the Bentley now, how much will you accept for the 964?

Anyway I had 9 Excellence carry out an inspection on the car looking for the damage that was meant to have taken place and they have confirmed that is has not been in such an accident and in fact it is a very good car. Its 20 years old and needs some items attending to as most 964's do but nothing that would put you off buying.

Some outtakes from emails below so you can see how underhand it is.

- Save your money, its not worth the inspection costs, its been joined across the front pillars and through the floor across the bottom of the bulk head and had a rear section grafted in, the repair was not done on a jig, and while it will run straight due to the adjustment on the suspension it would not sit square on a jig. i will look back I may still have pictures of it during the repair.

-Unless you have bid them very low on the car my advice would be withdraw from it and be thank full of an escape, that 3.3 is not a good buy, in my view

-The nature of the repairs mean it will need to be inspected by some one who understands factory panel joins and the 964 well.

-It could all be all be an amazing mistake, but ask yourself why has the car not sold given a very very strong market. I have no "skin" in this discussion its not as though I am going to rush in behind you and buy the car at a massive discount, that just will not happen.

On telling him I was going to do my own due diligence on the car....

-Your challenge will be it will need to be jigged to actually understand how far of the square the shell is, given the way the sections were fitted
It was hit hard in the front and one rear quarter, having been involved in a track based accident.

-It was repaired in a workshop. On stands with a black donor shell being used to supply the sections that were cut a grafted in

-Ask yourself why has it been for sale for so long….

So it pays to do your own research, Its obviously a cut throat market at the moment with desperate people being very spiteful.

I have bought the car and am pleased. Ken and Adam at 9 Excellence have been great and were really as critical they could be.

Adrian Blyth has also been great to deal with all along the way, even after me persisting with questions about the car being in a crash.

A pic of the car.

Jeeeeeez, Traitorman seems to be a right slimy git. Some poor bugger was selling a perfectly good car, and he dirtied it's history, just to try and put off other buyers and buy it on the cheap. That aint cricket!!!!!!!!

Approved you havd summed it up well.

F1ava that looks to be the same!

MT cheers!

Dave, thanks its 3.3.

Bigunit - Gonna keep it fairly standard.... biggrin Im thinking a suspension and brake refresh to get it handling right. Perhaps a further turbo tweak.... Firstly Speedlines or quality speedline reps, RH wheels I think.

Mark, good to be posting again and back in a 911! You actually inspired me with our conversations around your 964t...

Mermaid, of course you are right!

Will do m8 sent u PM. Am gonna need new suspension at some stage and doing a trip late sep to Stuttgart so wanna sort lighting etc. You heard of Nomex R adjustable suspension for the 964? A few using it I gather and relatively speaking pretty cheap!

Nice car lee, I'm sure you'll get it tip-top in no time at all, don't believe a word about keeping it standard though!

Strange craic about the other guy eh? Reminds me of some other weirdo who used to post on here hehe he started a thread about someone's car being a cut & shut too after they declined his offer on the car when it was nothing of the sort.

Wonder what happened to the fella? Can't believe he doesn't own a 911 anymore, it's a bit dull without him though you'd be 'ard pushed to find a stranger chap.

Still, takes all sorts I suppose smile

This is your side of the story. Would be interested to here the other guys.
I find it hard to believe someone would go to that effort to put someone off buying. If they really wanted the car surely there are better ways to ensure they get it.

Agree with the lesson though of always doing your own research especially in this world of the forum armchair experts.

This fella should be sent down....utter bell.

Sure there must be a legal case here for the selling company to act on

Magna you post in very similar places to Trantorman. Both about classic Range Rovers and 993's and Trantorman owns a 993 and sells classic Range Rovers.

Such a coincidence!

Happy to post all emails if anyone else has any doubts.

Agreed, he not only damaged the reputation of the owners car but could have damaged the reputation of Adrian Blyth who has been very honest and trustworthy throughout.

Yeah be careful Lee as you'll also get other freaks trying to lowball you for the car if you ever come to sell it 😎
