Do automatics suffer more from "brake disc warping"
Discussion
I've been driving round in an auto hire car for a while and had a thought.
It seams that when people in autos sit at junctions and traffic lights, they tend to keep their foot on the brake and leave the car in drive.
I braked moderately the other day for some traffic lights from about 45 mph and then sat at the lights for a minute and thought that if i was in my manual car I would have taken it out of gear and put the hand brake on. In the auto I just sat with my foot on the brake.
I've read that its not the discs that are usually warped but part of the pad effectively sticking to the disc when it is hot and you leave your foot on the brake after hardish braking.
What do others do and do you reckon autos tend to suffer from "disc warping" more frequently?
