Anyone in West Yorkshire with a Defender 300 Tdi

I'm going to Kenya soon and we are hiring a Defender 110 300 Tdi.
Im sure we will get a tour round it when we pick it up but having had zero LR experience I would like to have an understanding of the basics before we go.
Looking for anyone who owns one of these who would be so kind as to give me a quick idiots guide of the basics? Im based near Dewsbury in West Yorkshire and would obviously be happy to come to you.
