In 1983 the 2 ltr S was in its twilight of production, so most of the original options from the late 70s/early 80s were standard equipment, or no longer available.(Recaro seats, Headlight wash.)
A 83 S, ran on 6x13" 4 spoke alloy wheels (RS2000/Fiesta SuperSport type),with 185/70 tyres, a 5 speed gearbox, Metal tilt/slide Sunroof, tinted glass. They still has the long "S" graphics done the side.
The seats would have been XR3 type with red stripes on Black cars,(silver on some other colours) but with big headrests, some times nicknamed "mickey mouse" because of the shape.
The only factory options available in 83 were rear seat belts and stereo up grades.
The S stayed in production until the summer of 84 when it was replaced by the "Laser" models, sales were very small, Ford fans could have a Fiesta XR2 or Escort XR3i for similar, or less money, punters who wanted a RWD coupe had a decent choice from outside of Ford, or chose a 2.8 Injection.
Get some pics up, and start a thread in the "readers cars" section for more coverage.
