Event at St Pauls, parking advice

I am taking part in a running race starting at St Pauls' Cathedral in the morning and will be there about 9am. Can anyone give me any pointers on where is best to look for parking on a side street/free meter? I am happy to jump on a Boris bike if need be!

Lincoln's Inn Fields is free on a Sunday if you get there early enough, then it's a five/ten min walk to St Pauls.

You can easily park on the street in the square mile on a Sunday - single yellow lines are unrestricted and unless crowds are planning to do just as you are (is it a big event?) I'd just take my chances... I've parked up on Wood St and Aldermanbury on the weekend plenty of times and thats literally a 2-3 minute walk away.

Proper car parks around the city are cheap on a Sunday, this one is walking distance and £3 all day by the looks of it http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/services/transport-...

It the City of London Mile, I do find most people who come to events such as this don't drive so parking is usually ok. I just wanted to have an idea if parking is possible nearby which it is thanks for the comments!
