New car mileage discrepancy query

Hi all,

Quick query, went to look at a second hand 08 plate for the misses today and all seems fine.

One owner since new, full mini service history. Currently at 57430 miles. I did a hpi check to be sure and it showed a potential mileage discrepancy as follows;



The gentleman selling the car had no idea and couldn't explain it, to me it all seems genuine, but obviously am curious.

Could the garage have input something wrong or are rounded figures input as you can see a couple areas where there is a small deviation.

The history tallies up with all the records and receipts and where mileage is shown on the receipts it's correct.

My question is, where do some of the NMR figures come from and can they be different or am error?

I wouldn't worry. They've clearly entered an incorrect figure, realised and then entered the correct mileage figure on the same day.

Nothing to worry about. There's no logic or gain to be had for the mileage to be reset that low, and then to go back over to what it was before. Simple administrative error.

Just to query at he bottom aswell the difference on the NMR and the other recorded variants, where are these figures actually obtained from as it goes backwards and to me is clearly someone just rousing a figure down etc.

The mileage was corrected on the same day as the error.

Clearly looks like a mistake.

Simple way to verify. Get the document reference number from the V5 and do a MOT history check .

I've already done that and they are similar. Although the exact MOT dates and mileage aren't showing on the register. And submissions close to or on the MOT date are very close or if the same date are correct.

Do MOTs not Have to be logged on the central register?
