Anyone any experiences of the 1950's Talbot and Alpine ?

They're a car I've always liked since I was a child and I think it's an itch I may need to scratch.

My old man had a Sunbeam Alpine many many years ago. He talks about it wistfully, but I also remember something along the lines of 'rusted faster than I could weld the thing!'
