Motorcycle clubs/Biker gangs
Discussion
I was driving back from the Lake district yesterday and I spotted my first ever Biker gang riding as a group!
There were about 20 riders and they looked pretty bad-azz to be honest and their bikes looked and sounded awesome. They all had their club patch on the back of their jackets and they rode in quite a tight formation.
Whats the deal with these Motorcycle clubs then? Is the fearsome reputation justified?

There are a few evil biker gangs around but in general most of are the quitest bunch of boys your likely to meet, they just want to tour around on there bikes and do odd events for charity.
OK, so which are the evil gangs then? The patch had quite an evil sounding name

Was chatting to a biker guy the other day, he was in some kind of Harley appreciation group.
Anyway, the bit that amazed me was that he just threw into conversation that when it comes to anything organised, they have to do what ever the Hells Angels say.
I was amazed that there are "real" Hells angels in the uk and more amazed that this older accountant would want to be involved in anything where a violent group calls the shots, with well, implied violence.

There are a variety of bike gangs in the UK. There was an incident on the M40 a few years ago when some Outlaws shot a Hells Angel. Google Gerry Tobin.Anyway, the bit that amazed me was that he just threw into conversation that when it comes to anything organised, they have to do what ever the Hells Angels say.

That made the news, most of it doesn't.
Theres a guy about 300yds from my front door whos a member of one.
Every few months they all turn up at his house for him to join them and off they go, then they all appear back later on to kinda see him home i think.
Fairly spectacular in what is a quiet town when 15-20 of the noisiest bikes youve ever heard trundle through.

Many of those riding in groups, on Harleys with club patches are accountants, bank managers and IT contractors.
Those on hard tail Jap. chops with greasy denim tend to be the 'bad ass motherfunkers'.

Anybody with a HOG patch on their back is an Accountant, anybody wearing proper colours will be on a Brit bike or a Harley, although I think they do now tolerate Jap bikes. In the old days, only the real psychos got away with riding a Jap bike.
Or local rugby club has a biker event every year over a weekend, live music and lots of alcohol. A few local biker gangs attended and run it.
Been down a few times as a none biker and some of them look scary but when you talk and get to know them they are some of the friendliness people around!
They certainly know how to have a good time lol

The only real hard-nut bikers I've met have been on hard-tail Jap chops.Anybody with a HOG patch on their back is an Accountant, anybody wearing proper colours will be on a Brit bike or a Harley, although I think they do now tolerate Jap bikes. I'm talking about stuff like this:

On the other hand, everyone I know who owns a Harley or Brit. bike is in middle management.
Obviously, your experiences will vary depending on the groups you've known.
