So roughly - take the box and engine away, and you still have a car that weighs 1000kg+...

I would think the car weight should be around 600-700kg, or maybe less, kit-cars not something I know much about... but I'm pretty sure, you need around 500kg stock weight to bang in a turbo'd hayabusa block to notice anything special....
more weight you have, the more torque you need...

A lot of bike engined cars seem to be around the 450 kg mark plus or minus.

Have a look at this for something interesting. I was having a look at his website last night. You can buy the kit for around 20 grand or so.

My mate is currently in the process of building a caterhammy style thingy with a fire blade engine in it. I tested the demo one - never ever ever been round roundabouts so fast! and the scream at 12'000 revs...quite intense. Hard to judge actually how quick they are....quick to 60 no doubt..30mph feels fast though

Scary - go-kart with hayabusa engine strapped to the back and a massive bottle of NOS next to the right leg!!! didnt test drive that!
