getting another saab key

Hi
i may well buy a 93 cabrio tonight if i like it, but it only has 1 key,
how do i go about getting another key and can i code it to the car myself,

car is an 06 vector 1.8t cabrio

If you want genuine key & fob,

will need to be programmed using GM Tech2, iirc.

Go find a key cutting place in the town centre, or I got my last one done at a timpsons outside a tesco extra. They've got most key shapes and then all you have to do is search the internet on how to program one, probably put the old key in the ignition and then the new one in straight after.

so the plastic key i have now will have a blade inside it already? is that what your saying?
And the blade will already be cut to the car?
so its jsut a case of getting another proper fob getting the fob programmed to the car, and getting the blade cut as well?

Or you could buy a new fob (without key) for £99 including programming directly from Saab - http://www.saabparts.com/en-gb/uk/saab-service-clu... . Neo Brothers sell the blank keys for about £7, then just get it cut by Timpsons or similar.

Don't go to Timpsons with your own key as they will refuse to do it. They only cut keys they provide. I was prepared to pay the same price as if they'd provided their own blank but he wouldn't do it...

Didn't buy it. Walked.
It was full of scratches and a bad repair and respray over the rear passenger wheel arch
You could see scratches in the filler and it had been sprayed over
