Front toe alignment

I'm surprised at the difference. One tyre was about a degree too far in and the other was a bit in. Now the steering feels better, the car tracks better and seems to handle better (though this may just be the steering).
I then put the front tyres on the rear because they have a very worn band right on the outer edges. After googling this I think this is caused by the toe in. In future I'll know that if the tyres are wearing a lot in a band on the tyre shoulder and if the steering feels a bit strange I probably need to get the toe adjusted.
I guess I should have noticed this earlier but I accepted the car the way I bought it.

Minutes, surely. Fifteen degrees and it'd be easily visible and could even squeal a bit. In fact there won't be that amount of adjustment on the track rod ends. Did the 'fitter' tell you this?

He said it was fifteen degrees and from the tyre wear I can believe it.

It's my sister in law's car she gave to us as she was about to scrap it and we're in between cars.

The adjustment nut was seized and I've had to cut off the track rod end and fit new inner track rods too - when I can work out how to get them off the rack.
