Which car for £15k?

Hi guys, long time lurker first time poster here!
My current car is a 2003 VW V6 4motion, its time for a change!
I'm 29, no kids, looking for a car that will put a smile on my face every time I drive it like my Golf does. It must be an everyday driver, also I am 6ft 4ins so I'm looking for a bigger car than the Golf - no small cars please! I do about 12k miles per year and have up to £15k to spend on my next car.
Can anyone suggest a suitable motor?
Current favourite option is 2007 BMW 335i. Only hesitation with this is paying £15k for a car that is 7 years old. Is this a legitimate concern!?

Surely not serious?I had one, a juicy snoozemobile it was.
Impreza STI Hatchbacks are around that money, and about a million times more entertaining.
M3`s are very cheap now too.
Personally I`d probably try and find an evo 9.
I've no idea what I'd buy if I was in the market at that level at the moment, but there must be massive choice. I guess the first thing would be to decide the kind of car you want, and then narrow down from there.
At the end of the day I guess running costs must never be forgotten. There are plenty of cheap old cars available which have the potential to land some pretty hefty bills.

Subaru BRZ listed at 15.5k 12 plate in the right colour!
Impreza WRX STI Hatch , you will have some change left over too...
Never driven one either these but Lancer GSR's(240hp) available with plenty of change and the 15k could just stretch to an evo X

I have to say, I don't know how driving a golf can bring a smile to your face.
I'm sure it's a competent car, but I don't see anything to smile about.
'Smile' cars are cabrios and sports cars.
Grand Tourers and luxury barges perhaps too.
£15k.
Forget the BMW's and suchlike.
Buy a 2 seat Porsche, an S2000, a TVR.
Get a car with some flair.
Get the car you wanted when you were 13 years old.
I'm sure it's a competent car, but I don't see anything to smile about.
