Motul in France

Hi all, just switched to Motul in the Wedge, having bought some in the UK. As its French oil, I thought that it would be widely available over there, but having searched for it on my last trip a couple of months back, I couldn't find any. An e-mail to Motul remains unanswered. Anyone know where this stuff (ideally 300V Comp.) may be available in France?

Why go for a French brand? You can definitely get Mobil 1 10-40 quite easily over there - I saw both Motul and Mobil 10-40 in the Carrefour at Le Mans this year. (Mobil cost about 60-70 euro for 4 litres)
If it's Motul you're sticking with, then I suggest trying the larger French Supermarche's adjacent to any largeish town in the hardware section (Quincallerie?)

Are these the lengths you have to go to to keep up with a 15 yr. old (Wedge that is)??

In thought that Mobil had changed to 5W 40 on le continent. The Motul is 15W 50, better for the old RV8 (dont want to start another oil thread), and I figured it would be miles cheaper and readily available en France.

Motul is made from better base stocks than Mobil.

I think I managed to prove comprehensively that a rebuilt and blanced 500 leaves a 15yr Wedge in it's dust ....

I needed one of those mirrors where things look bigger than they are to stop me feeling guilty !

You seem be be overlooking my moment of glory at Zolder 2003:

Acceleration test:

400SE time 9.34s - 1st in class

Johno 500SE time 9.63s - 15th in class

Zolder 2004 acceleration test:

400SE time 9.43s - joint 5th in class
You woiuld have needed something special to beat that.

I think we need to remember that these cars have steering wheels which are used to make them go round corners ....

Can I ask you to get the lap times out for last year Mr Gotts, I suspect you won't want it aired on the forums how slowly you ol' wedge was going ...

Bearing in mind Lawrence won the sprint this year in a time of 5.6 secs or something equally as unobtainable without a methanol fuelled blown dragster you have to question the timing to start with, and your propensity to jump the lights last year was legendary !!

I admit to being slower down the strip, but I remain far faster round the circuit.

I shall now rest on my laurels and fully welcome the opportunity to defend this position next year ..... I may lose the sprint once more, but when we hit the bends, "eat my dust!"

Shall we compare trophies, I think I'm leading ... not to say anything about being put in the wrong class

The 15W 50 Comp., but those prices are ridiculous - I paid only £25 for 4 litres in UK, those prices work out at c. £30 per 4 litres! How can that be for a French product in France?

You know I can not compete ..... as much as it pains me to say it .... yours is the greatest sounding TVR i've heard. ..... christ that hurt !!
