Has anyone tried these mirrors from demon tweeks ?
My side doors don't have the usual mirror attatched -so im looking for something which might work by clipping onto the frame of the windscreen .
At present i'm using a Heath Robinson arrangement of a rear view mirror taped onto the windscreen frame -works to a fashion but looks rubbish
Any other ideas gratefully accepted ..

I tried running on the perspex defectors with a mirror mounted on the roll cage but got fed up being buffeted above 60mph

I have these on my 7.(like that when bought car happy with them so not changed when replacing for new doors.) they give enough view, only drawback is you cannot open the door fully without knocking them & having to then re position you get used to that, but always forget to tell passengers. If you don't remember to check before driving off you need to undo harness to reach forward far enough to reach driver mirror to do that legally involves stopping. So up to you if you can live with that or not, I have been told door holes are pre drilled in metal frame if you want door mirrors just need to feel for, then break through plastic covering, but never bothered feeling myself so not sure if true.

doclip,

Are you a member of the Lotus Seven Club?

Someone recently made just thing you are looking for but not sure whether this offer is to those who aren't club members.
Ah just to add, the bracket is designed for SPA mirrors rather than the CC caravan mirrors.

Cheers

Now I have looked at what you were referring too on Demon Tweeks, I bought one of these (off eBay for a bit less than DT price) but I'm sure I couldn't get the right angle with the mirror adjustment alone. Think it required some additional bending. In the end I decided not to bother because it was only for when running with the deflectors and was odd having them on a;song with the mirrors on the doors.

If I get the chance tonight I will have another look - that's if I can find the mirror in the garage.

Cheers

Thank you all for your thoughts ....
Spoke to someone today called Dave at Demon Tweeks who owns a Caterham -and he told me to try the Racetech single seater mirror and the associated silver Racetech pillar mount -which apparently replaces one of the pillar supporting screws for the windscreen -on the Demon Tweeks feedback one person said they had to modify the bolt which goes into the pillar to avoid cracking the glass -hmm i can foresee problems there

Have you not considered the mirror mount kit from Caterham themselves? You replace the middle screw on the windsceen and attach these instead.

Looks pretty tidy and the mirrors are held in well. The only downside as per other windscreen mirrrors is that you can't open the doors all the way. As a result, I only use then when the doors are off for trackdays.

Nah, I tried it once and it was horrible without a helmet. Perhaps if you push the deflectors out further, but it's quote painful on the ears and there's too much buffeting. I always level the doors on when driving on the road.

I often run wind deflectors with no helmet. That is to say I would never feel the need to use a helmet with deflectors but I do use very tough wraparound Wiley X glasses to protect my eyes and often where a Buff on my head.

I only use the deflectors for short fun trips when the weather is hot though. No fun on long journeys.

I wonder if for example using a half hood and deflectors is any improvement in terms of reducing turbulent airflow ?
Anyone done that ?
The full doors are restricting and look a bit rubbish IMHO

It might be better with half doors and the deflectors pushed out further (many people bend them in boiling water). I guess it migh be better with the half hood, but I don't really like having the hood on unless I have to.
