Replacement Key Cost?

Anyone know the cost of a new key from an OPC? One of mine has cracked and easily comes apart. 3 Button one for a 987 Boxster if that makes a big difference

The plastic bits will cost you about £50.

Had the exact same problem.

How to here, shouldn't take more than a few mins and is much cheaper than the £££ the OPC will charge for a new key and programming.

Porscheshop also do replacement plastic parts.

Swapping the internals and key blade over is easy. If new internals and programming are required OPC charged me about £120 for a new hey for my 996.

If that was for a full replacement key, including cutting a new blade, that's unbelievably cheap. My OPC charged me around £300 for a full replacement a few months ago.

Perhaps not the blade as there is no reason whey they couldn't have transfered it over.

Head and internals were new though as it had stopped working and they diagnosed a faulty circuit.

Worth flagging that a 996 key is quite different to the versions used on 987 and 997s and the costs of replacement usually reflects it.

That said if somewhere is offering new key heads for a 997/987 that really is an absolute bargain! As others have mentioned when bought and coded by an OPC it's usually £300 ish.
