Anyone know of this Cerb?
Discussion
Firstly, apologies for breaking any forum rules, but I have no affiliation with the seller, and it's a PH ad, so I can't see a problem...

Anyone know this car?
I know it's cheap because it needs a new chassis, however, if I can get a chassis replacement done, a major service, and a respray to TVR purple (my personal favourite colour for a TVR), I think it could be quite a motor. Is this a horrible idea? Should I just be patient until I see a car that fits my wants, or spend the money 'rescuing' a poorly one?
Thanks all!

Depends if you want a project or not. I really like the idea if buying something cheap and spending time and money to get it the way I want. I'd like to do a lot if it myself too so I know as much about the car as possible too.
I'd have that car snapped up already if my present circumstances were different.

10k sounds cheap but it isn't just the outriggers that need doing it is the main chassis.
If you want a project then that's fine but if you want a car you can buy and drive with confidence from day one then you may be better to wait for something with a little less work needed. Maybe something dark green with some choice upgrades and proven to be a reliable everyday driver. Something with a radtec rad, some silicon hoses, new raceproved clutch, rebuilt gearbox, Joolz whirlwind short induction, Joolz ECU chip and cooling mod, decat pipes with sports exhausts, freshly rebuilt with new powerflex diff bushes. Something like that could be along any second and it probably wouldn't be too pricey as it needs a front end respray and the spiders refurbed but something you could just drive for a year first as it has a long fresh MOT...
Yes, you should keep a look out for something like that.

Tim, I've sent a PM (I think!) As for the chassis not outriggers, I got that from the advert. It still doesn't scare me too bad, as the price for the work to be carried out would at least, in part, be recovered by a future sale, should I decide to get rid. Anyway...
m3coupe, I do enjoy a project, and I'm not afraid of spending some of my hard-earned on it, to get it right. Or at least to a standard I accept as 'good'. I'm a mechanic myself, and I'm super picky about the stuff I drive. It has to be right.

Sounds to me like it could be the car for you if you have the time and inclination to do the job right.
The way I'm looking at it is I can't buy a car with the exact colour scheme and condition I would like. So best option for me is buy something that's needing the work, I'm even including accident damage in this too, and spend time rebuilding and replacing everything.
Yes I know it will cost more in the long run, will probably take me longer than I thought but it will be a keeper and once finished, will look like a car I would have ordered new from the factory.
Also the idea of saving one from the scrap heap also really appeals.
