What do you love/not love about the Chimaera?
Discussion
This is my first TVR and I absolutely love it but like all relationships, not everything can be perfect.
Love: I just love it's rear. I know the Griff boys talk about golf bags in the boot and all that but I truly believe that the arse on the Chim is a curvy work of art. I just love the rear view.
Not love: the headlights. It's a bit like Ed Pickles, his eyes are too small for his face and the Chimaera is the same. This is totally rectified by the Mk 3 faired in headlights.
Without doubt though, I certainly made the right choice by buying a Chimaera instead of a Boxster/S2000/etc. It's been the most exciting 15 months of my motoring life.

Love the buzz of every drive - I even take mine shopping, especially Asda (underground carpark!!!) I have done 14,000 miles since the engine change 14 months ago, without using it as a daily driver.
Love the friends I have made through the car - how can so many people with a common interest all be such decent human beings??? I am amazed but delighted. You can totally trust even those you have never met before.
Love the way the car, properly set up, handles on a race track or a B road, both just as well as each other. Great driver's car.
Dislikes?
Not having more money to take care of my beloved car.
Wishing that my wife could like the car more and share in the fun more.

Great looking car, V8 noise, the cockpit and driving position, the handling now that Mat Smith has fettled the geometry, the admiring glances the car gets driving round town, with patience and this forum you could do the majority of repair works yourself.
Don't likes.....
Temperamental electronics,

Temperamental electronics,
I love the way it looks, especially from the rear. I like it more than the Griffith aesthetically. Coming from.a 986 Boxster I love the noise and the weight of the controls, the reaction of people who see it, being let out of junctions! I love the Britishness of it and the hand made, bespoke feel, the compactness and THE NOISE..
Things not so keen on the standard roof taking up to much boot space for touring purposes (Surrey roof needed I feel), the headlights and interior dash lighting could be better, the chassis corrosion issues..

Looks, sound, Britishness, practicality (for a sporty car), making people smile when they see/hear it, making Lotus owners feel they have lawnmower engines.......
Dislike;-
If they'd spent just a bit more time developing out some of the silly electrics/other issues/paid more time to build quality - it could be even better & not saddled with the reputation Tvr got.

Love:
Noise
Looks
It's different
The nods of appreciation from fellow petrol heads
None of the image stigma of a Porsche
Big boot
Hate:
Pedals offset to the right
Wooden feeling brakes
The constant nagging feeling "is this the journey I won't make it to the end of?"
Soft top being in the way of the rear view mirror when down
Crap handbrake
It just gets so. Damn. Hot.
Hmmmm more negatives than positives...I might have to get a Tuscan..

Love: the fact I've just got back from a 70 mile blast around the moors for no particular reason than it's sunny and the car was calling me to take it out!
Love the looks of the car, the people who give you the nod of approval when you pass by, the way the interior is laid out.
The fact that they are realitivly easy to work on.
And the noise, that beautiful soundtrack you get every time you fire it up.
As for the not so good bits:
Knowing the chassis is gonna need new outriggers come September is a pain, but I knew it when I bought it so I can't complain.

Just for those who complain about not being able to see out of the back when the roof is down. Get a new roof from Dave the Trimmer in Milton Keynes with a slightly smaller window. You hardly notice the difference aesthetically as it keeps the same lines but it drops a few inches lower and it makes all the difference.
